Educational Programs

The Carolinas Center for Hospice and End of Life Care is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by North Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

The Carolinas Center provides education for hospice professionals, volunteers, and board members through a variety of workshops, seminars, and conferences. Topics include clinical practice, interdisciplinary team practice, management, personal development, program development, and research.

Call for Presentations

As part of The Center's effort to provide quality educational programs to the health care community, we invite its members and professionals in the hospice and end of life care communities to submit presentation proposals for free-standing workshops and audio conferences. The Center is seeking proposals on innovative clinical approaches to hospice, end of life care, and interdisciplinary team communication.

Your presentation should focus on key issues facing clinical and non-clinical team members, including nurses, nurse practitioners, nursing assistants, social workers, chaplains, bereavement counselors, volunteer managers, therapists, medical directors, accounting, human resources, and topics on leadership and management.

This form can be used to submit proposals for:

  • One-day free standing workshops
  • One and one half day free standing workshops
  • Two full days free standing workshops
  • One hour audio conferences
  • Breakfast for Brainiacs audio conference series

Disclosure to Participants

Successful Completion of this Continuing Nursing Education Activity:

In order to receive full contact-hour credit for CNE activity, you must:

  • Be present no later than five (5) minutes after starting time
  • Remain until the scheduled ending time, and
  • Sign the attendance Roster, and complete and submit the Evaluation Form to the staff person overseeing the workshop at the conclusion of the program, at which time you will receive your certificate.

Requirements for successful completion may also include participation in individual or group activities, such as discussion, exercises, practice questions, pre-/post-testing, etc.

Conflict of Interest

A Conflict of Interest occurs when an individual has an opportunity to affect educational content about health-care products or services of a commercial interest with which she/he has a financial relationship.

The planners and presenters of each CNE activity will disclose any conflict of interest, and the resolution status at each CNE activity.

Non-Endorsement of Products

The Carolinas Center for Hospice and End of Life Care's approved provider status, and the NC Nurses Association's accredited approver status refers only to continuing education activities and does not imply that there is real or implied endorsement of any product, service, or company referred to in this activity nor of any company subsidizing costs related to the activity.

Off-label Product Use

This CNE activity does not include any unannounced information about off-label use of a product for a purpose other than that for which it was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
